this week!

hello everyone! yesterday was so much fun, wasn't it??

Now it's the beginning of a new week, and almost a new month! :) Here's what's in store:

12/1--  this particular wednesday is the WAAO (West Alabama AIDS Outreach) Program. We voted on Sunday (yesterday) and everyone decided they wanted to participate in this event instead of having Bible study at the office. The WAAO Program starts at 6:30 PM and is going to be at the church.  This service is going to be a time for the community of Tuscaloosa, AL, to better understand the disease of AIDS, and perhaps become involved in this ministry. THERE WILL BE NO BIBLE STUDY ON THIS DAY.

12/8-- this particular wednesday, we are going to be starting our new Bible study! Come join us from 6-7:30 PM! You won't want to miss this Bible Kick-Off!! :)

12/12-- this particular sunday is (1) Bo's birthday! whoo-hoo! and (2) the 1st Annual Christmas Party feat. DIRTY SANTA! More info will follow up closer to time, but we'll go ahead and give you a few details:

• each gift should cost NO MORE than $5
• every person wanting to participate in Dirty Santa should bring only one gift
• the gift should be able to go "both ways" (i.e. boy/girl)

You are allowed (and encouraged!) to wrap the gift however you want to and make it as interesting as you can! :) The Christmas Party will be held at the Hansford home from 5-7:30 PM; email for directions!

12/14-- Kimber's birthday! whoo-hoo!!

12/15-- this particular wednesday is just Bible study. :) Be at the Cafe from 6-7:30 PM!

12/21-- Arkeia's birthday! whoo-hoo!!

Turkey Bowl!

Ok, guys, today we are gathering for the annual Capstone TURKEY BOWL! Be at the quad at 2 o'clock and get ready to get down and dirty! :)
Girls, you can come too. We'll have board games and fun things for you to do as well. :)
And after that, we're all heading back to the church to eat and have Recap, so don't don't miss it!

 just some info ya might need to know:

This Wednesday we are starting Bible Study at 5:30 pm. Why?? Weeeell, we are going to watch a movie! The movie is The Passion of the Christ. The movie is rated 'R' for scenes of graphic violence, so get your parents permission before you come! An email has been sent to your parents letting them now about what we're doin this wednesday, so that shouldn't be a problem. :)

We hope everyone who went paintballin' had a fun time yesterday! The reports from everyone who went were very good! Sounds like yall had tons of fun! :)

We've thrown together a last minute FOOTBALL PARTY at Emma's house!

(it was emma's idea! thanks emma! :))

Be at her house at 5:30pm, stay till around 8pm, and have yourself a good 'ole time! But wait!! Don't come alone! Bring a friend and a game snack for everyone to share (the snack, not the friend)! ;)

We hope you all can make it! Everyone should know how to get there since we were there about a month ago for the Baked potato bar; but, if you don't know how to get there, email us for directions! no prob.

hello, youth! we're in charge of a booth for Tents, Tables, and Treats this Oct. 31! so, we need to brainstorm for ideas! a few ideas were thrown out last night, but we need more so we can make the right decision! so, leave a comment, or visit the FB page and write on the wall!

this week we are reading John 17 so get out your handy, dandy BIBLE! or go here if you just love staring at a computer screen. I dont doubt that God speaks through technology.
this wednesday, the 20th of October, is the One Meal One Day deal! Remember to skip a meal and pray for the hungry kids that don't get to eat everyday like we do.
Next Sunday we are goin to the hummel's house for a hay ride and caramel apples! don't miss this and invite friends!

THIS SUNDAY THERE WILL BE NO RECAP! there is one for the parents, however, at the merriam's house, i think. parents, you will be getting an email about that shortly.

and for those of you who were prepared with a mission statement last night, great job! remember to live it out at school, at home, in the grocery store, at the doctor's office, or WHEREVER you are today! for those of you who didn't have one yet, don't fret. just wait for the verse God want you to adopt as the way you'll live your life!

just some news for ya:

this wednesday we are meeting in the OFFICE! not the pour, not the youth room, but the OFFICE. Click here for the address.

• Directions (CAUTION: they might stink): 
• turn left at the red light that is directly in front of the church. You will be going in the direction of Robinson Towers.
• Go a little ways and Robinson Towers will eventually pop up on your left.
•  the office is right across from Robinson Towers, makin the office be on your right.

The office is a little house with a driveway (or so I'm told). Mr. Durell's truck will be parked in the driveway, so you know it won't be that hard to miss.
Bring your Bibles and remember to read John 15 sometime before wednesday so you can be prepared for what we're goin to talk about.

What a wonderful weekend....

We did have a wonderful weekend, didn't we?? Yes, what with church Sunday mornin, luch

In other news, this Wednesday we are meeting at 6 to discuss John 14 in the POUR CAFE! Take note of this location change because if you go to the youth room, we won't be there and you will be sorely dissapointed when no one opens the door for you to come in. On the contrary, we will greet you with smiling faces and a cheerful game to start off our evening if you come to the POUR. Tell all your friends.

And, we are getting the camping trip all organized (thank you Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Jennifer) so you will be getting a packing list of what to bring and a paper with all the details soon. Sadly, it is too late to sign up, so we hope you have already let us know that you what to come! We can't wait for our weekend in the woods! :)

reservations have been made campy people! We are SO excited if you're going camping with us! And, if you're not, that's ok. We'll bring you back a smore. ;)

Today is the first day of Fall! just thought i'd throw that out there....

Sunday is the church picnic following service. I'm not sure of all the info on that, but I do know that each family needs to bring a side dish that goes along with chicken fingers.

Sunday Night is the video scavenger hunt at the Merriam's so we hope you're coming to that! It's going to be super fun. We're also having taco soup and dessert at their house, so come hungry. In fact bring all your hungry friends and we'll make it a party! whoo-hoo! Capstone people love parties! :)
